For us Riglos began in 2003, when we planted our own vineyards in Uco Valley, the best region of Argentina, particularly in the Gualtayarí area. Those who know our history, it is not difficult to deduce that our vineyards in 2005 were at first harvested with 2 ½ years after planting. Those who do not have much experience, but read a lot, may think that in the first harvest it is not possible to obtain super premium wines. We did and we know this is because we are in the best place and we have the best people to achieve it, people with expertise and excellent vineyard management. We want to make this point clear for those connoisseurs, sommeliers or wine critics that may have a doubt. We mention this because in this first harvest the plants had little grape and leaf area reduced by age, which allowed excellent sanity and good concentration, we were less exposed to climatic variations during the growth cycle.

This was an excellent season with mild climate with moderate temperatures for the Valle de Uco. The fresh spring start caused some shift especially in the malbec, which contributed to the cluster to be more loose and light. Average temperatures in January were not very high allowing a balanced ripening. During the last stage of maturation from mid-March to mid April, the temperature range was notable, so good levels of concentration were achieved. A year of little rain with a classic Mendoza fall, allowed a perfect harvest.
